Escola do Futuro - Featuring organic molecules - 2 M




Activity: Present a video of an organic molecule.

Rules:

1. It should be done in pairs (TWO STUDENTS). Exceptions only under teacher´s consent.
2. The films should only be one minute lenght.

3. The submissions will be judged through the following criteria:

a. Visual/Sounds aspects (IT IS RECOMMENDED THE USE OF SUBTITLES!)

b. Content being exposed - which must contain:
* Molecular formula and structural formula of the chosen molecule
* Physical state of the molecule at STP (CNTP in portuguese…)
* Applications
* Motivation of students (why have you chosen this molecule?)
* Discrepancies between the information provided - Students should consult AT LEAST TWO SOURCES and quote them at work!
*** Molecule solubility in water (100g) and some organic solvent (eg: ethanol, chloroform, acetone, ...).

4. The double must submit presentations scripts (written, sent via mail to aroggers@gmail.com) in which shall include in the SUBJECT field, following structure:

2X-studentsname-nomedamolecula

5. The deadlines for the completion of the activities are:

A. Script of the film (untill to Oct 27th, 2015 – 20:00 UTC/GMT-3)
B. Videos uploads to youtube (untill up to Nov 24th, 2015 - 20:00 – UTC/GMT-3)

Escola do Futuro: Video Experience

Activity: Producing a video of a simple experiment that should be posted on Youtube.

Rules:

1. It should be done in pairs (TWO STUDENTS). Exceptions only under consent.
2. The films must have MAXIMUM one minute.
3. The experiments should be simple and APPROVED by the teacher. The research should be carried out by the students based FREELY, BUT SHOULD BE SIMPLE AND SAFE.
4. The video will be judged based in the following criteria:

a. Visual/Sound aspects (IT IS RECOMMENDED THE USE OF SUBTITLES!)
b. Replication of the experiment
c. Safe performance of the experiment
d. Ease of understanding

5. Each of the pairs must submit presentations scripts (written, sent via mail to aroggers@gmail.com). The mail should contain in the SUBJECT field, the following structure:

9X-student Last Name / nameoftheexperience

Example:

9B-Oliveira/Alves-soapbubbles

Emails with the presentation of scripts should have two files:
A. Mini report of the experiments (containing name, purpose, materials and reagents, procedure, researched sources.
B. Script with the speeches and the presentation sequence.

6. After the approval of the scripts, the students will be allowed to film the experiments and upload them to youtube. The students will only need to send a mail with the LINK of the video, using the same instructions on item 5.

7. The deadlines for the completion of the activities are:

A. Script  (Untill Aug 25th, 2015 - 8:00 p.m.)
B. Videos Uploads (Untill Sep 8th, 2015- 8:00 p.m.)
